The Best Strawberry Cake Ever
It may not look like much, but this strawberry cake is quite possibly the most delicious cake I've ever eaten! It's my grandmother's recipe; the funny thing was that I had asked my mother if we could bake a strawberry cake while I was home last month, and lo and behold my cousin, Selena, walked in with one.
Strawberry cake just also happens to be my friend Tami's favorite cake. Last weekend was her and her husband's one year anniversary, and they invited several friends over to help them celebrate. What better occasion to make this strawberry cake? It's really easy to make and was a big hit with all of the guests.
Cake Ingredients:
1 box white cake mix
1 small box strawberry jello
1 cup oil
1/2 cup milk
4 eggs
1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
Frosting Ingredients:
1 stick butter
8 ounces of cream cheese
2lbs of powdered sugar
Recipe:
Set oven temp as directed on the cake mix box. Mix jello and cake mix, then add in milk and oil. Beat until mixed. Add one egg at a time, continuing to beat mixture. Next add the strawberries. Mix until well blended then pour into your cake pan(s). Cool completely after baking. For icing: cream butter and cream cheese and add small amounts of sugar at a time while beating. Add berries and continue to mix.
