The Best Fish Tacos

The Best Fish Tacos

Growing up I was an extremely picky eater. I say that like I'm really that much different today. Granted my food horizons have expanded since moving to New York, but I still struggle with finishing a roll of sushi (I get about three or four pieces in and call it quits). However, there are many cuisines and dishes that I've absolutely fallen in love with after trying for the first time: pretty much anything Mediterranean and FISH TACOS! Generally, I'm not a fish person; I can't deal with the "fishy" taste. But, I finally caved and tried fish tacos and became obsessed. So much so, that I decided to cook them myself...and they were delicious!

I posted this picture to Facebook to brag about my culinary accomplishment (toot, toot....that's me, tooting my own horn), and my best friend's brother, Marlon, proclaimed he hadn't eaten a decent fish taco on the East Coast. Challenge accepted, my friend...I knew just the place to take him. It's the same place I tried fish tacos for the first time, the place that got me hooked: Tacombi. So a few Fridays ago we indulged in some rooftop happy hour beverages, amazing fish tacos (and other deliciousness from Tacombi), and topped the night off with rice pudding from Rice to Riches

I can't take credit for coming up with a beer battered baja fish taco recipe by myself...I'm not that good. But here's the website/genius who did come up with it. If you try the recipe, let me know what you think. And if you're in NYC, you MUST check out Tacombi
