Ocean Trails
I've been waiting for this day for almost four months...Dennis and I finally embarked on our first hike since arriving in Southern California. We've patiently waited for my foot to heal and for the green light from my doc to start walking without the boot.
Hiking was a big reason we moved here; we both enjoy being outdoors and being active. It felt good to get out and "stretch my legs" for a bit, but my foot still isn't strong enough to do much. Plus my PT would chastise me for walking so much without at least one crutch (to keep from limping...I'm having to retrain my body for a normal gait). Don't let me fool you though, this was a super easy trail and fairly flat. It's called Ocean Trails and is located on the Palos Verdes peninsula. There's a section that you can take down to the rocky beach, but I'm definitely not ready for that yet. Plus, we had BK with us and dogs aren't allowed on the beach. I'm so surprised how many beaches here aren't dog-friendly. I get it, you don't want to be lying in sand full of dog shit, but responsible owners pick up after their dogs, so.....thanks to those of you irresponsible dog owners who don't pick up poo.
Anyway...looking forward to getting stronger and exploring more trails!
